Long-established restaurant which is becoming more and more modern. New design, but consistently good cuisine. Highly recommended, especially for people who are very hungry. Children and senior cards warmly welcome all age groups. The service is perfect and leaves nothing to be desired.

If you like meat, this is a great local restaurant choice. And if you do not like meat, I'm sure you can find something good! Large portions. Great steaks. Every time I am in town, inevitably I attend the Friedenseiche, and it is a strong go-to for client dinners. Salad bar, weekly buffet.

We have eaten here several times this year and even celebrated our civil wedding here. Everyone was enthusiastic. The food is excellent, prepared with love and care. The staff is above average friendly. The kitchen is upscale and has a very good price-performance ratio. We love coming here and really enjoy the quiet ambience in the winter garden. Despite the crowded restaurants at peak times, the acoustics are good and you don't sit too close to the next table. I can recommend the Friedenseiche with a clear conscience.

Been here a month ago, on the way home from Düsseldorf airport to the Netherlands. We ate here unannounced with 13 persons, and had the best meal we had in a while in Germany. The schnitzel with fried onions are a must. Big plates for a very nice price. Will go here again.

Unfriendly staff, appalling food. Rooms were not made and toilets were filthy.

Worn out and old little place with poor organisation. Unfortunately staff people are not helpful, and they don't speak English. Had to leave earlier than our check out time, because staff was banging on the door. It seems paying by credit card is problematic as well. WTF

First saw the mix reviews, then saw the decor of the place (very dated) wasn't expected much, but it was an invitation so no choice. It was Easter Monday, so quite a bit of people, besides our group, that was another big group. Nevertheless the food came out quick. To our surprises, the food was very good. My lamb cutlet was slightly tough but I heard that how people like it in that region. The potatoes were extremely tasty. The menu has a lot steak choices, I guess that maybe their specialty?

Really good food and always fresh and pretty cheap as well.
